Airport and Transportation Information

Flying Here

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is your gateway to the greater Fort Myers area. RSW offers nonstop flights on 15 airlines to 74 destinations, including cities throughout the U.S. and internationally in Canada, Cuba and Europe. An added bonus? RSW is beautiful, medium-sized and as stress-free as airports come. RSW is located approximately 30 minutes from Fort Myers Beach and 45 minutes from Sanibel Island.

Visitor information booths are located at RSW in the upper level atriums and lower level baggage claim areas. There, travelers can ask knowledgeable tourism ambassadors questions and receive directions, maps and information for all the things to see and do in and around Fort Myers.

Driving Here

We’re an easy drive from several other major Florida airports, too: 2 hours from Tampa; 2.5 hours from Miami and Fort Lauderdale; 3 hours from Orlando and 8 hours from Atlanta. To get to Fort Myers by highway within Florida, the primary route is Interstate 75 (I-75), which runs north-south, connecting with Florida's Turnpike and other major arteries, with key exits leading to US 41 (Tamiami Trail) and State Road 82 (Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd) into the city. From South Florida (Miami), you'd take I-75 north and exit appropriately. Key exits include Tucker's Grade (Exit 158) from I-75, connecting to US 41 south into Fort Myers. From central/north Florida (Orlando, Tampa), you'll head south on I-75.
